AMS boys top Geneva

The Andalusia Middle School boys' basketball teams remained perfect on the season with wins against Geneva on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs from AMS, however, suffered their first defeat of the 2003 season.

The 7th-grade boys' team from AMS defeated Geneva by a final score of 43-27 to improve to a perfect 5-0 on the season.

Nico Johnson paced the Bulldogs with 17 points. Sean Cowan and C.J. Woods scored 6 points each in the win.

Calvin Middleton and Jamie Busch scored 4 points each. Kevin Anderson, James Mo and Leslie James scored 2 points each.

The 8th-grade Bulldogs topped Geneva by a final score of 31-18 to improve to 7-0 on the season.

Michael Berry played well with 10 points to go with several assists and rebounds.

Martin Watson, Terrell Curry and James Hogg added 6 points each in the win. Bilyon Jones hit for 2 and Ryan Godwin scored 1 point.

In the girls, game, Geneva earned a 34-25 win.

Ebony Heard was the leading scorer for the Lady Bulldogs with 8 points. Holley Bass hit for 5 points. Blanche Alverson had 4 points.

Anna Henderson, Morgen Battey, Jasmine Kelly and Tyrhonda King scored 2 points each.

The AMS 8th-grade squads return to action today with games against Dauphin Street in Enterprise beginning at 5 p.m.
