AMS Bulldogs finish season undefeated

Perfection is unattainable, or so they say. Just do not tell the Andalusia Middle School Bulldogs. The AMS 8th-grade boys' basketball team capped off a perfect season with a win against Geneva on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs, not to be outdone by the football team, went a perfect 12-0 this season in basketball. The AMS football team also had an undefeated season this year.

The basketball team's final win was a 58-48 victory against Geneva.

Bilyon Jones scored 20 points to pace the Bulldogs in the final game of the 2003 season. Nico Johnson added 12 points.

Terrell Curry and James Hogg scored 9 points each in the win. Martin Watson scored 4 points. Sean Cowan and Sam Johnson had 2 points each.

The AMS Lady Bulldogs ended the season with a loss to finish the season with an 8-6 record.

Geneva edged past the Lady Bulldogs for a 29-25 win.

Geneva went on top 9-3 in the first quarter.

In the second period, the Lady Bulldogs outscored Geneva 6-5. Geneva, however, remained in front with a 14-9 halftime lead.

Andalusia won the third quarter outscoring Geneva 8-5 to get within two points of the Lady Panthers by a score of 19-17.

The Lady Panthers won the fourth quarter outscoring Andalusia 10-8 for a 29-25 win.

Ebony Heard and Morgen Battey were the leading scorers for Andalusia with 6 points each. Heard also had 4 steals and 4 rebounds.

Anna Henderson, Holley Bass and Jasmine Kelly scored 3 points each in the loss. Bass had 5 steals and 5 rebounds to go with her 3 points. Henderson had 3 steals. Kelly had 4 rebounds.

Also scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Janique Felton and Jeressa Curry with 2 points each.
