Estelle (Sears) Williams

Estelle (Sears) Williams, 87, of Andalusia died on December 11, 2003 at Andalusia Hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at Grace Chapel Baptist Church. Burial followed in Lowe Cemetery. Kirk's Funeral Chapel Directing.

Survivors include Kathy (Robert) Rudolph of Andalusia, Betty (Nelson) Carter, of Bloomfield, Conn., Eddie (Delores) Williams, of Hartford, Conn.

Jewel Courtney

Jewel Courtney, 80, a lifelong resident of Baker, died Monday, December 15, 2003 in Pensacola, Fla., Jewel was a member of Good Hope Congregational Church and was employed by Alatex for 37 years.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 2 at Good Hope Congregational Church with Reverend Joel Carden and Rev. Dennis Courtney. Burial was at Good Hope Congregational Cemetery. Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband James "Jim" E. Courtney of Baker; two sons Ron Courtney of Apex, N.C. and Rick Courtney of Titusville, Fla.; one daughter Annette Whitlock of Cleveland, Tenn.; three brothers Claude E. Barton of Nashville, Max Barton and Robert D. Barton, both of Andalusia; one sister Lucille Nixon of Baker; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Claude and Nancy Barton.

William Maynard Douglas

William Maynard Douglas, 93, Andalusia, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at his residence.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Herb Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow services with Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife: Mary Douglas of Andalusia; one brother Albert R. Douglas of Montgomery; two nieces Patricia Thompson, Andalusia, Virginia Page, Pensacola; five nephews Jerry Caton of Fort Walton Beach, Larry Hartzog of Mandeville, La., Richard Jones of Andalusia, Al Douglas, Montgomery, Joe Carroll Douglas, of Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Jones II, Patrick Jones, John Thompson, Basil Thompson III, Jimbo Caton, Greg Caton, Larry Hartzog and Larry Wells.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday at Foreman's.

Therall Henderson

Therall Henderson, 71, Andalusia, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 in a Pensacola hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2003 at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Turman and Rev. Glen Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Henderson of Andalusia; two sons Jerry Rabon Rushing, Elba, Terry DeWayne Rushing of Andalusia; one daughter Gwendolyn Kay Abernathy of Pleasant Grove; four grandchildren; one sister Elizabeth Tubberville.
