Lady Bulldogs harpoon Dolphins, 59-33

The first Class 4A, Area 1 game of the season was big for the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs.

The squad entered the game following a double overtime loss to the Dothan Lady Tigers just 24 hours earlier.

The Lady Bulldogs did not appear fatigued by the two extra periods they played Thursday night with a 59-33 bombing of the visiting Gulf Shores Lady Dolphins.

The win improves Andalusia's record to 9-4 overall and 1-0 in area play.

Ashley Johnson paced the Lady Bulldogs offense with 13 points. Tanesha Wright and Apri Kilgore had 12 points each. Kathy Crittenden scored 10 points. Jermecia McNeil had 6 points. April Daniels and Catlin Edmondson had 2 points each.

In the varsity boys' game, the Andalusia Bulldogs fell to the Gulf Shores Dolphins by a final score of 52-41.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 3-11 on the season and 0-1 in area play.

Lance Evans was the leading scorer for Andalusia with 19 points. Andrae Wright, Michael Cauley and Brandon Wilson scored 6 points each. Josh Johnson had 4 points.

Andalusia won the B-team game 36-28. Garrett Berry led the way with 9 points. Justin Sims had 7. Cherno Bah scored 6. Kevin Huff, William Alverson and Jacob Cauley also scored.

All three Andalusia High School basketball teams return to action on Tuesday when the Hillcrest Jaguars visit for an area game.

The B-team game tips off the action at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday followed by the varsity girls' game and the varsity boys' game.
