Diane Castleberry

Diane Castleberry, 53, a resident of Prattville died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at 2 p.m. from Fountain City Baptist Church, with Pastor Rick Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. She was a faithful member of Fountain City Baptist Church where she generously contributed her talent as a musician.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. James E. Sharpe.

She is survived by her beloved spouse of 33 years, Jesse Castleberry of Prattville; one son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Kelly Castleberry of Millbrook; two grandchildren, Russel Michael Castleberry and Zackery Shane Castleberry; her mother, Gladys Sharp of Prattville; one sister, Tammy McNutt of Millbrook; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmie and Sandy Sharpe of McKenzie, Ed and Donna Sharpe of Montgomery.

Pallbeaerers will be Thomas Wiebe, Don Taylor, Charles Styron, Vernon Easterling Tony Moore and Steve Moore.

Thelma Romaine Workman

Thelma Romaine Workman, 87 of Andalusia died Thursday, January 1, 2004 in a Luverne hospital.

Graveside services were 2 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Rev. John Hunt officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Workman is survived by one son, Larry Workman of Burlington, N.C.; one daughter, Geneive Hendren of Andalusia; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Artie Heiland of Columbia, Penn, Irvin Heiland of Prospect, Penn.; three sisters, Betty Frey of Mount Wolf, Penn., Martha Heiland and Kathryn of York, Penn.

Cora Bell Cassady

Cora Bell Cassady, 93, of Andalusia died Sunday, January 4, 2004 in Andalusia.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Mahon officiating. Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery near River Falls Street.

She is survived by three daughters, Vivian Gregory and Christine Teal, both of Andalusia and Geraldine Akins of Daphne; two sons, Lomax Cassady of Evergreen and Marlon Cassady of Andalusia; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Max Cassady, Meador Akins, Thad Akins, Chris Long, Chad Long and Chip Long.

Alma Bailey Robbins

Alma Bailey Robbins, 82, of Lockhart, died Thursday, January 1, 2004 in Florala Health Care Facility.

She was a long-time member of the New Hope Baptist Church located between Opp and Florala.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tucker Aplin and Rev. Elbert Smith officiating. Special music was provided by the Harrelson Family. Burial followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Wyatt Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include the following children: Douglas Robbins of Marianna, Fla.; James Robbins of Paxton, Fla.;

Marvin Robbins of Florala; Evelyn Pierson of Pensacola, Fla.; and Wayne Robbins of Lockhart. One sister, Anis Carroll of Opp; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her hushand, Marve Lee Robbins and son; Ray Lamar Robbins.

Pallbears were her grandsons.

Ballona Beck

Ballona Beck, 92, of Andalusia died Thursday, January 1, 2004 in a Shelby County hospital.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Winn. Burial followed in River Hill Baptist Church in Salipta with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a son, Earl Grey and (Nell) Beck of Andalusia; daughter-in-law, Hazel Beck of Bossier City, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda Faye and Bill Lane of Alabaster; sister, Opal Jones of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Karen Beck, Billy (Cheyenne) Lane, Drew Lane, Nancy Fields, David (Trish) Beck, Kim (Michael) Woodham, Janice (Ken) Weatherbee, Wayne (Rena) Meeks, Phil (Donna) Meeks and Randy (Lori) Meeks; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ballona Beck was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Lynn Beck; a son, Lynn Edwin Beck; a grandson, Grady Lynn (Rusty) Beck; and a great-grandson, Stephen Lenwood Richey.

Pallbearers were Wayne Meeks, Phil Meeks, Randy Meeks, David Beck, Royce Bumpers and Chris Beck.

Marvin &uot;Babe&uot; Harrelson

Marvin &uot;Babe&uot; Harrelson, 81, of Red Level died Saturday in an Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2004 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Sells officiating. Special music was provided by the family. Burial followed in Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Harrelson of Red Level; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Becky Harrelson of Gantt; sisters, Wilma Jean Aughtman of New York; Bertha Sharpe of Andalusia; granddaughter, Celina Newton of Gantt; step-grandsons, Chad Henderson and Eric Henderson.

Pallbearers were Roy Henderson, Rex Henderson, Demond Nolen, Mickey Sharpe, Chad Henderson and Keith Lynch.

Norma Daughtry

Norma Daughtry, 73, of Andalusia died Saturday, January 3, 2004 in an Opp hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Keahey Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2004. Burial will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a son, Ken Daughtry of Eastman, Ga.; daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Daughtry of Georgia and Debbie and Alan Jones of Andalusia; two grandchildren, Stephen Jones and Zackary Jones.
