The 8th-grade Championship Game pitted the Straughn Tigers against the undefeated Florala Wildcats.

The Wildcats remained perfect on the season with an unbeaten record via a 44-28 win in the Championship Game of the Covington County Junior High School Basketball Tournament.

Michael Carson was the leading scorer for Florala with 15 points. Reggie Gundrum added 10 points. Calvin Mulkey, Michael Peterson, David Bass, Stephon McLaughlin and Nicho Lafata also scored for the Wildcats.

Straughn's points came from Josh Dozier, Seth Kinsaul, Ross Parker, Trevor Driver, Trenton Driver, David Clark and Michael Bishop.

The members of the All-Tournament Team are Fleeta's Charlie Chinn, Florala's Stephon McLaughlin, Red Level's Jerritt Varner, Straughn's Josh Dozier, Florala's Michael Carson, Straughn's Trenton Driver, Fleeta's Allen Barlow, Straughn's Trevor Driver, Red Level's Charlie Gordon and Florala's Reggie Gundrum.
