James H. Pound
James H. Pound, 87, of Florala passed away Sunday, January 18, 2004 in an Andalusia health care facility. A native of Covington County, he was the son of the late James A. Pound and Lora Thompson Pound. A veteran of the US Army during WWII and saw action in several combat battles where he was decorated. He was engaged in farming and also was employed as a timber cruiser with Koppers Company until his retirement. He was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Cook Pound of Florala; son, James Louis Pound of Florala; two daughters, Jelaine Smith of Trussville; Katrina Atkinson of Odenville; sister, Sybil Watkins of Buhl; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2004 from Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Northrop and Rev. John White officiating. Burial will follow in North Creek Cemetery.
Charles Sellers
Charles Sellers, 86, of Red Level, died Monday, January 19, 2004 in a Mobile hospital.
