Opp squads sweep Brantley Bulldogs

On Saturday, the Opp varsity boys and varsity girls teams defeated Brantley.

The Bobcats took a 10-2 lead in the first quarter of the varsity boys' game and held a 25-20 lead at the half.

The Brantley Bulldogs rallied in the third quarter and tied the score at 41-41 after three quarters of play.

Opp won the fourth quarter by outscoring Brantley 18-13 for a 59-54 win.

Emanuel Lane paced the Bobcats with 33 points. Also scoring for Opp were Tyrell Hunter, Daniel Coleman, Alphonso Harris, Sanches Stephens, Mariel Mount and Holt Parker.

Brantley's leading scorer was Devon Person with 19 points.

The Lady Bobcats topped Brantley 72-24 on Saturday.

Sasha Musgrove was the leading scorer with 17 points. Ashley Mock and Trinity Osborn added 16 points each. Kiarra Henderson hit for 11.

Also scoring for Opp were Kim Crittenden, Sherice Stephens, Janna Bush and Jessica Wood.

The Opp varsity boys and B-team squads played in Enterprise last night. Results of the game were not available at presstime.

The Opp squads return to action tonight when they host the Samson Tigers beginning at 4:30 p.m.
