AU plans A-Day

Auburn University will host its annual spring football game on Saturday, March 20 at 1 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium which highlights a full weekend of activities on the Auburn campus and in the city.

The weekend, which is entitled, &uot;Celebrate Auburn! A-Day Weekend 2004&uot; includes such activities as Tiger Nights hosted by the UPC on Friday, the annual Football Lettermen’s Club A-Day race, a street dance at Toomer’s Corner on Saturday night, eight different sporting events, an autograph session prior to the game and interactive games and live entertainment at the Tiger Team Village on Saturday.

Tigers Nights will include a concert on the mainstage as well as interactive activities in and around Foy Student Union. Admission is $3 to the general public and free to Auburn University students.. The Auburn Football Lettermen’s Club will host its annual A-Day Race on Saturday morning with the 5K race beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run at 9:10 a.m. Both races will finish on the 50-yard line of Jordan-Hare Stadium. On Saturday night, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce will host a street dance at Toomer’s Corner at 8 p.m. with the band, Tyn Tymes. The event is free to the public.

The Athletic Department will host a reunion for all former student-athletes during the weekend. Activities will include a reception on Friday and a tailgate prior to A-Day on Saturday. Former athletes who are interested in attending should contact Chris Hargrave at (334) 844-1151.

Tickets for A-Day are $5 for the general public and $1 for students.

Tickets will go on sale at the Athletic Ticket Office on Monday, March 15. No phone orders will be accepted.
