Also, Gruenewald was presented with a Certificate of Recognition from Gov. Bob Riley.
Rep. Charles Newton also sent a Certificate of Recognition from the Alabama House of Representatives. This is the first year that the Greenville Advocate gave such an award. Center director Mary Wallace said when they began discussing who they could nominate for the award, it was unanimous that Gruenewald was the right person.
Also on hand for the event were his wife, Brenda; their daughter, Monica G. Pate; brother, John Gruenewald and his mother, Audrey Gruenewald.
