We are so glad to hear that Ralph (Dink) and Bennie Sport are the proud great-grandparents of a new little boy. His name is Ethan Ewing and was born Sept. 11 and weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
Ethan is the son of Jeff and Melissa (Sport) Ewing and the grandson of Frankie and Paulette Sport.
Both mom and baby are doing great.

We would like to wish a very happy birthday to Mrs. Hazel Rawls. She celebrated her 90th birthday with a party in Montgomery Sunday with family.
Many of you remember Ms. Rawls. She taught math at Dozier High School. She is a fine lady that brings a smile to our faces any time that you see her lovely self.
We just regret that they couldn't have the party here where we could have all had the chance to show her how much we love her.

Dozier First Freewill Baptist Church had to postpone their many activities scheduled last weekend since Ivan decided to make an abrupt appearance. The church will host a singing this Saturday with a yard sale coming up the following weekend.
Ya'll come join them. Everyone is welcome and invited to come.

We would like to thank the fire dept members who helped the many citizens of our town to recover from Ivan. They were out cutting down trees, clearing roads and doing whatever else was asked of them in order to help the town recover. Each member went beyond the call of duty and for that we thank them
We have so much to be thankful for. We have our lives, our families and for the most part, our homes. We can look around and see that there are so many people out there in worst shape than us that we can honestly say that we were blessed.

Football games throughout the area were postponed until a later date. Along with the high school games, don't forget about the little ones playing on Saturday nights.
Michael Walker plays on the Brantley peewees. His cousin Meagan Biggs is a cheerleader for the peewees.
