Count blessing as New Year rings in

Published 12:00 am Monday, January 3, 2005

Happy New Years to all! Another year has come and gone. It seems like it has just flown by, but we can count our many blessings.

As I went shopping I ran into everyone I hadn't seen in awhile and some I see all the time. It was good to see friends and relatives, but it was also good to be home.

Heritage School had a great idea for celebration on Dec. 16-18. They celebrated Christmas at the Crenshaw County Lake.

The air was a little brisk, but the atmosphere was wonderful. They lined the lake with an array of lights and scenery befitting the season. Frosty, Santa and even a train with toys on board were on hand. Of course there was a manger scene with the star of Bethlehem shining bright atop of it.

Those on hand also enjoyed a variety of refreshments.

What a wonderful way to visit the lake in the wintertime. This is being set as an annual event.

Hope to see you next year.
