The Fort Dale Eagles took flight once again this weekend when they played host to the Colts of Hooper Academy and then traveled down to Mobile for a game against the Cottage Hill Warriors.

"We had a little let up in the second quarter that let them get back into the game," said Reggie Mantooth coach of the Eagles.

The varsity boys posted a 20-point victory against the horseshoes.

"The boys played a sloppy game, but we won by 20 so we did a lot things right. It was a good win for us as well because it was the first area win of the of the season."

While, it looked like the 6-7 Varsity squad was about to turn a corner and even their season, a loss at Cottage Hill set them back below .500.

"The boys game was a game where we were never in it from the start," said Mantooth. "We didn't play well offensively and didn't execute very well against Cottage Hill."

The girls however, extended their winning ways.

"The girl's game was similar to Hooper," said Mantooth. "We were up by 20 a few times but couldn't close them out."

Fort Dale is currently on the road and will be back in Greenville this weekend when they play host to Bessemer Academy at 1 p.m.
