The McKenzie Tigers experienced a feeling that they have been missing since early in the season. The Tigers picked up their second victory of the season when they defeated Pleasant Home in Georgiana Friday.

It was also their first area victory of the season.

"If we played like we played on Friday," said James Brown, coach of the Tigers, "we could win some more games before the season ends."

The Tigers fought back and by the end of the third quarter had pushed ahead of the Eagles by one, 28-27.

The fourth period had been the thorn in the side of the Tigers for a majority of the season, but on Friday, it proved not be.

The Tigers were able to hang on for a narrow, 41-40 victory.

"Our defense struggled, but offensively is what made the difference," said Brown.

"Teamwork was the key to Friday's win."
