The Butler County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation to a rape of a female inmate that took place in the waning days of 2004.

A female inmate alleged she was raped on three different days while she was being held at the jail, according to Sheriff Diane Harris.

She said the woman accused two jail trustees of raping her in the female shower area downstairs at the jail.

Harris said on Friday that the case will be presented to the grand jury during its next convention.

&uot;We plan to present it to the grand jury,&uot; she said Friday.

&uot;We continue our investigation.&uot;

It’s a strange case actually.

Harris said at the first of the month that the woman alleged she had sexual relations with the two trustees on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 and Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005.

When Harris found out about the incidents, she immediately sent four employees home without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

The sheriff said if any wrongdoing was found on the jail staff’s part, they would be terminated.
