This weekend, four teams saw their seasons come to an end. McKenzie girls and boys were both eliminated in their respective tournaments along with Georgiana's boys and Greenville's girls.
This weekend, the Georgiana Lady Panthers will have a chance to pick up that illusive area championship if they can hang on for four periods against a team that has beaten them twice – Flomaton. Their game will be played Saturday night in Flomaton with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
The Greenville High Tigers will have their hands full on Monday with a pumped up Troy team.
No matter the outcome of the area tourney finals, both Georgiana and Greenville will play in a sub-regional.
While the two AHSAA schools are still banging away at the Area level, Fort Dale will take it's first step towards another state title this weekend when they travel to Faulkner University. The guys will hold court against the Wildcats of Edgewood Academy. The Lady Eagles will face Macon-East for the first time this season.Best of luck to all the teams in their respective games.
It's that simple.
