and friends are invited to attend Olean Boswell’s 90th Birthday Dinner held at the Crenshaw County Pond on March 19, 2005.

Evangelist Jerry Trotter will be preaching at the Greenville Church of God beginning Sunday, March 20 through Friday, March 25. Sunday services will be at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Weekday services will be at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.

A gospel meeting will be held at the County Line Church of Christ from March 20 to 23. Speakers will be John Dickinson, Jeff Grimes, Mike Barlow and Charles Sipper. Sunday services being with bible study at 10 a.m. Weekday services will be at 7:30 p.m.

March 21

Midway Baptist Church will hold their spring revival on March 21-23 at 7 p.m. The Rev. Wallace Newton will bring the message each evening and there will be special music at each service.

Everyone is invited to attend.

March 25

March 25 was designated as an inclement weather day for the Butler County School System.

However, due to Hurricane Ivan and the days missed following the storm, the March 25th day has been cancelled. Students must report to school on that day.

This is the last make up day for the days missed after the storm.

April 2

The Butler County Optimist Club will be selling barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, potato pies and cold drinks on Saturday, April 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Murphy's Pool Hall on Commerce Street. Proceeds from the sale will go to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

April 14

The Greenville Advocate, in conjunction with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce will hold a Business After Hours from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2005.

The Greenville Advocate recently completed a total renovation of its Hickory Street offices.

A brand-new Relay For Life team, the &uot;Bunco Babes&uot;, is now pre-selling

tickets for delicious barbecue chicken plates to raise funds for the annual American Cancer Society event.The plates, which feature chicken, bread, baked beans, dessert and a drink, are only $5 each. The First Baptist Church of Georgiana is now taking names and contact numbers for those wishing to order additional copies of their new "Country Cookin'" cookbook, which is now on re-order. Weight Watchers will start a new Community Workshop Program in Greenville on March 1 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the new YMCA. Each session is for ten weeks, with subsequent 10-week rollover sessions.
