Residents in Damascus and Honoraville can feel safer now that Investigator Kenneth Hadley has arrested two suspects wanted in connection with six burglaries committed in the past month and a half.

"We had an informant tell us that two white females, one named Christie Taylor, had been attempting to sell some firearms around the city that may have been stolen," Hadley said. "We located Taylor and after interrogation she admitted to having burglarized several homes with Kasandra Ramos. We picked Ramos up and she confessed to committing six burglaries since Feb. 7."

According to Hadley, Ramos, 25, admitted to breaking in to a home on Canterbury Road with Willie James Hall, 27, on Feb. 7. She broke in to the same home again on Feb. 21 alone.

Ramos and Taylor, 31, joined up for the next burglaries beginning with a home on Mobile Road on March 1. Both suspects then admitted to breaking in to two homes on March 2 stealing mostly jewelry and electronics.

Haldey caught up with the suspects on March 4 and when asked what they had done earlier that day, they admitted they had just committed another burglary on Fort Dale Road. This time they had stolen rifles and small change which the investigator was able to recover from them.

"They told me they needed the money for drugs," Hadley said. "They were buying crack cocaine with the stuff. I was able to get a written confession from both suspects."

Kasandra Ramos is charged with three counts of burglary, first degree, three counts of burglary, second degree, one count of burglary, third degree, three counts of theft of property, second degree, and one count of theft of property, third degree.

"Both Ramos and Taylor are being held on $100,000 bond," Hadley said. "They have not made this and remain in jail as of Thursday. Willie Hall is being held on $40,000 bond and is also still in jail."

Ramos is charged with three counts of burglary, first degree, three counts of burglary, second degree, one count of burglary, third degree, one count of theft of property, first degree, three counts of theft of property, second degree, and one count of theft of property, third degree.

Taylor faces charged of two counts of burglary, first degree,

two counts of burglary, second degree, one count of burglary, third degree, one count of theft of property, first degree, and two counts of theft of property, second degree.

Hall for his part in one burglary faces charges of burglary, first degree, and theft of property, second degree.

"They kept going and going until we caught up with them," Sheriff Dianne Harris said. "At any time people are not at home and someone sees a strange vehicle at that home they need to call us as there's something funny going on."

"This is something not unusual for these suspects," she said. "It all boils back to drugs. We are getting tough on drugs as the root of all burglaries is drugs. I appreciate the cooperation we get from other agencies and from citizens."

Investigators are still looking for information on two individuals wanted in connection with the burglary and theft of a debit or credit card and theft of property in September, 2004. Anyone with information on this or any other crime is asked to call the sheriff's office at 382-6521 or to call 911.
