animal cruelty

By "Our View"

Each year, thousands of animals are victims of animal cruelty in the United States.

This type of behavior can be found right here in Butler County, but you can help stop it.

In recognition of April being designated as Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month, the Greenville-Butler County Humane Society

and he American Society for the

Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) are working together to raise awareness in Butler County.

Our local animal shelter and area law enforcement work to protect animals throughout the year and invites the community to become involved this month.

Animal cruelty can take many forms from neglected and starving an animal, dog fighting, cock fightings, denying an animal some type of shelter.

There are currently 33 states including Alabama that have laws that make intentional cruelty a felony charge, while the rest treat animal cruelty as a misdemeanor

We hope that you will join in the cause to prevent cruelty to animals and report such events to the proper authorities.
