Tribe downs White Sox

The Greenville Heat scattered six hits in its Dixie Angels League debut to come away with a 12-0 victory over the Warriors on Thursday.

Daphne Moore led the Heat with two hits, while Dana Moore followed with a 1-for-3 outing with four RBIs. Takira Walker also was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Neioana Bogan had the lone hit for the Warriors.

Gators 7, Panthers 3

A 6-run Gator first inning was too much for the Panthers to overcome in their season opener.

Kasey Taylor led the Gators with two hits, while Colby Benson finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Niaya Johnson led the Panthers with a 1-for-3 outing and two runs scored. Tomasina Means also had a hit for the Panthers.

Slammers 14, Pirates 2

Abby Blackmon was 3-for-3 with two RBIs to pace the Slammers over the Pirates.

Anne Blake Langford, Marva Scott, Courtnee Meyers and Hope Hough chipped in two hits a piece for the Slammers.

Chasity Jenkins led the Pirates by finishing 1-for-1 with a second-inning solo home run.

Dixie Minors

Orioles 11, White Sox 4

Toby King and Cade Tillery pounded two hits each to lead the Orioles past the White Sox. The Orioles trailed 4-2 heading into the fifth inning, but they rebounded to score nine unanswered runs to close out the victory.

Mike Smith and Will Davis had a hit each for the White Sox.

Red Sox 5, Cubs 3

The Red Sox fell into a quick 3-0 hole in the top half of the first inning only to rebound and score five unanswered runs for the victory.

Ben Pressley had the Red Sox' only hit of the day, while Seth Glass led the Cubs with two hits.

Dixie Boys

Indians 16, White Sox 1

The Indians scored seven first-inning runs before settling for the 16-1 victory.

Deven Cheatham scored four runs for the Indians, and Daniel Nolan scored three runs for the Indians.

Paul Whigham scored the White Sox' lone run.

Red Sox 8, A's 2

Cortez Peagler was 3-for-4 with a double to lead the Red Sox over the A's.

Dustin Till, Brantley McKeown and Allen Thompson also had two hits each for the Sox.

Jeffery Stead and Stewart Moody each scored a run for the A's.
