Smith captures points lead

William Smith took over the points lead Saturday night at the Butler County Motorsports Park after Smith won the Late Model feature.

With the win, Smith now holds a 10-point lead in the points race over Jack Daughtery. Smith took the points lead after holding off Jim Till during Saturday's race.

Randy Adams holds a three-point lead in the Super Hobbie division although he did not come away with a victory on Saturday. Curt Ryals, who is second in points, managed to hold off Adams in the feature race.

After coming posting no points in the last two weeks, Brandy Thaggard jumped from third to second place in points after picking up a feature win in the Front-Wheel Hogg division.

Carey Stallworth finished second, while Tiffany Simmons was third.

Bo Jordan didn't win either heat in Pure Stock and finished second in the feature race, but did manage to increase his points lead.

Ronnie Davis was first to see the checkered flag in the feature race followed by Jordan and Andrew Wiggins.

Jack Callen won the first heat, and Bill Conway won the second heat.

Steven McDonald picked up his first win of the season Saturday after holding off Will Henderson in the feature race. Rodney Best finished third.

Dewey Boggan and McDonald won their respective heats before the feature race.

Racing will continue this Saturday with the gates opening at 4 p.m. and racing scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
