Slammers cruise in Ponytail finale

Marvia Scott ripped a solo home run to right field in the third inning to spark a three-run inning to lead the Slammers past the Pirates 15-6 in the season finale for the Greenville Ponytail league.

Scott finished with two hits and a RBI.

Ann Blake Langford chipped in two hits, including a triple for the Slammers.

Murphy Middleton paced the Pirates with two hits, including a solo home run in the second inning.

Lori Fail added two hits, while Priscilla Collins and McCall Watkins had a hit each.

Chicks 14, Ballers 7

The Chicks scored nine runs in the third inning to cruise to an easy win over the Ballers Thursday night at the Greenville Softball Complex.

Joanna Hall led the Chicks with two hits, including a triple.

Nicole Norton added two hits, including a double. Tara Gibson and Amber Newton also had two hits each.

Iesha McCall led the Ballers with a double, while Tamara Truitt and Stanzler Peagler had a hit each.

Chicks 15, Ballers 3

Tara Gibson scattered three hits, including two doubles and scored three runs to lead the Chicks past the Ballers.

The Chicks scored 10 runs in the first two innings and cruised the rest of the way.

Shawnee Morrison added two hits for the Chicks.

Iesha McCall led the Ballers with a hit.

Dixie Angels

Warriors 7, Panthers 2

Adrianne Callen ripped a home run and had two RBI to lead the Warriors past the Panthers, 7-2.

Grace Cason scattered two hits and scored a run, while Susan Cole scored two runs for the Warriors.

Kristen Welch had one hit, while Brittany Reaves and Niaya Johnson accounted for the Panthers' two runs.

Heat 3, Gators 1

Daphne Moore, Bethany Nolan and Hannah Burnett scored a run each to lift the Heat past the Gators, 3-1.

Dixie Majors

Red Sox 15, Nationals 0

The Red Sox jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back to rout the Fort Deposit Nationals, 15-0.

Brandon Burnette led the Red Sox with a hit, two RBI and two runs scored.

Cory Johnson also had two hits for the Red Sox.

Derrell Robinson prevented the Nationals from be no-hit with a lead-off single in the first inning.

A's 9, Yankees 4

Adam Moore scattered two hits and had a RBI to lead the A's past the Yankees, 9-4.

Brad Heartsill and Josh Booker also had two hits, while David Moore ripped a three-run home run in the third inning.

Chuck Barrett and Daniel Hartley had two hits each for the Yankees.

Minor League

Astros 15, Red Sox 5

Wilson Lowe pounded out three hits, scored three runs and had two RBI to lead the Astros to a 15-5 victory in the Minor League finale on Thursday.

Chase Whiddon had two hits, scored two runs and had two RBI. Chip Taylor had one hit, scored three runs and had a RBI.

Luke Hamm had a hit and scored two runs to pace the Red Sox.

Orioles 6, White Sox 4

Cade Tillery scattered two hits and scored a run to lead the Orioles past the White Sox. Tillery also pitched six innings and struck out 15.

Toby King had two hits, a run scored and a RBI for the Orioles.

Mike Smith and Harper Vinson each had a hit and scored a run for the White Sox.
