Belles hammer Andalusia

The Greenville Belle All-Stars easily advanced to the second round of the sub-district softball tournament in Elba on Thursday.
Greenville scored 10 runs combined in the last two innings to cruise to a 22-7 win over Andalusia.
Greenville advanced to face Luverne late Friday afternoon for the right to face host Elba in the semifinals.
Elba advanced to the semifinals by crushing Highland Home, 10-4.
The pitching trio of Kayla Johnson, Shawnee Morrison and Anna Nelson struck out 13 Andalusia batters. Greenville also held Andalusia scoreless
until the third inning.
While Andalusia had problems getting runs across the plate, Greenville scattered 16 hits with five of the 16 going for extra bases.
Greenville opened the game scoring a run in the first and then tacked on five more runs in the second and three in the third. After being held scoreless in the fourth, Greenville added two runs in the fifth.
Anna Nelson led Greenville at the plate with three hits, including a double, and scored three runs.
Abbey Mullins belted two doubles and scored three runs, while Kayla Johnson had a double and a single with three runs scored.
Cory Rice scattered three singles and scored two runs for Greenville, while Nikia Powell and Shawnee Morrison had a hit each and scored two runs.
Shantzel Peagler also had three hits.
