The Unemployment rate in Crenshaw County continued its steady decline, urged on by more and more job opportunities opening up with SMART Alabama, Dongwon and other Hyundai suppliers in Crenshaw County.

Recently released data from the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations indicate a full percentage drop in unemployment from the previous month. Crenshaw County's unemployment was 4.6 percent in April, while revised date from March had the county at 5.7 percent.

Unemployment stood at 6.3 percent in April 2004.
