Board of Education approves new school hires

On Thursday, Sept. 15, the Butler County Board of Education met for its regular meeting and made several recommendations concerning personnel.

The following personnel were approved for employment:

Jeremy Doss, Science teacher, Georgiana High School; Brian Dunn, Lead teacher, Alternative School; Carolyn Anderson, Special Education Services teacher, Greenville Middle School; Betty Bedgood, Special Education Services aide, R.L. Austin Elementary School; Charlotte Savage, Computer Lab instructional aide, W.O. Parmer Elementary School; Henry Mitchell, bus driver, Transportation Department; Dorothy Jackson, bus driver, Transportation Department; Kim Johnson, Early Intervention instructional aide, Education & Community Center; Regina Eggleston, College Assistance Program Specialist (System-wide); Rita Wright, Administrative Assistant of Curriculum & Instruction; Leslie Stallworth, ISSP instructional aide, Greenville High School; Ashley Bennett, Technology Support Specialist, Education & Community Center.

June Brooks of the Alternative School was approved for re-employment as an instructional aide.

The following personnel were approved for voluntary transfers:

Tera Bishop, to transfer from Special Education Services teacher at Greenville Middle School to Assistant Principal at Greenville Elementary School/W.O. Parmer Elementary School; Mary Christ, to transfer from elementary teacher at R.L. Austin Elementary School to Enrichment/Gifted Education teacher at the Special Services Facility; and Amy McClellan, to transfer from elementary teacher at Greenville Middle School to Gifted Education teacher at the Special Services Facility.

The board accepted the following resignations:

Suzianne Ammons, bus driver, Transportation Department; Michelle Myrick, counselor at Greenville Middle School, and Daron Thompson, custodian at Greenville Middle School.

Tessie Baugh, Child Nutrition Program worker at Greenville High School, was approved for her retirement request.

Linda Dunn, bus driver, was approved for a leave of absence.
