Mary Jane and Cary Cole Falkenberry Sr. of Greenville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Susan Caroline, to John Nance, son of Chun Nak Bryant of Columbus, Miss. and Donald Wayne Nance of North Dakota.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late James A. and Jane W. Dees of Greenville and Bettie Falkenberry Field and Blake Edward Field of Camden.

She is a 1996 graduate of Greenville High School and attended school at Natchez High School in Natchez, Miss. from 1989 to 1995.

Miss Falkenberry is a 2001 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

Formerly an employee of Bradford Health Services, she is now attending Gadsden State Community College's School of Nursing.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Kim Song Rin and Yu Bok Sun of the Republic of Korea and Mary Adams and Warren Wheeler of Gadsden.

He is a graduate of Emma Sansom High School in Gadsden, a 1999 graduate of Auburn University and is currently employed with Job Corps of America.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 8, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville.
