Calling all art lovers: an opportunity to purchase original artworks by talented Alabamians and at the same time, help a good cause, is soon coming your way.
The Holiday Art Mart and Silent Auction is slated to run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Greenville YMCA at 177 Academy Drive.
Proceeds from the sale will go to the YMCA.
A number of artists, including watercolorist Elise Womack, porcelain artist Lillian Tatum, Deborah Haire, who works in oil, photographer Barbara Wood and many other talents will display their creations during the event.
“We are really excited about the art mart. There are a lot of wonderful artists who will have donated their work to the sale, and several will also be speaking about their art that morning,” Lori Cummings, one of the event organizers, said.
The Y also hopes to see the public visit some of Greenville's other businesses to make it a full shopping day in the Camellia City.
“Support Alabama artists, support hometown businesses and support your YMCA,” Cummings said.
