A search warrant for drugs led to an arrest by the Greenville Police Department this past Thursday, Dec. 1.

According to Lt. Kenneth Parker of the Greenville Police Department, Fredrick Crenshaw, 31, of 826 Oak Street, was arrested after the GPD Special Response Team entered the residence and found a plastic bag containing marijuana and a matchbox containing several crack cocaine rocks. One Smith and Wesson .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol and $190 in cash were also recovered in the search.

Parker said that Crenshaw was arrested at the residence and charged with possession of marijuana, first degree, possession of a controlled substance, and, due to his having a prior felony, he was also charged with certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.

After a background check, Crenshaw was also charged with failure to appear for no insurance and failure to appear for no child restraint.

Crenshaw was transported to the Butler County jail. He was released on $20,000 bond, and a hearing date is pending.
