United Fund of Butler County has something to cheer about. The countywide charitable organization has reached its $50,000 goal, UF Secretary-Treasurer Alice McGee said Wednesday.

&#8220We are so pleased to have once again reached our annual goal, and to know we will be able help so many people throughout Butler County through this program,” McGee said.

United Fund contributes monies collected to more than 30 agencies located throughout Butler County, including South Butler Rescue Squad, the Butler Activity and Training Center, the Greenville Area YMCA, Children's Depot in Georgiana, Safe Harbor, and others.

More than 70 businesses, industries, schools and churches in the area contributed to the United Fun Campaign this year.

&#8220We appreciate everyone who contributed to this campaign, and all our volunteers who worked so hard to make this happen,” McGee said.
