Thompson#039;s 3-pointer lifts Magic over the Pistons

Akeem Thompson scored eight of his nine points in the fourth period, including a clutch 3-pointer to lift the Magic to a 61-60 victory over the Pistons in Jr/Sr Boys action on Jan. 25.

Jeremy Robinson led the Magic with 11 points, while Deidrique Scott had 10.

Anthony Mack scored a game-high 18 points to pace the Pistons. Derrick Huguler added 11, and James Smith had 10.

Spurs 43, Heat 38

Demario Simpson scored 10 of his team-high 17 points to lead the Spurs over the Heat.

Montrez Cannon led the Heat with 12 points, while Jacque Burnett had 10.

Heat 53, Magic 52

The Heat outscored the Magic 21-9 in the fourth period to pick up the win on Feb. 1.

Jacque Burnett scored all of his game-high 16 points in the second half to lead the Heat.

Montrez Cannon followed with 11.

Jeremy Robinson led the Magic with 12 points, while Deidrique Scott chipped in 10.

Spurs 42, Pistons 39

DeMario Simpson scored seven of his team-high 11 points in the second half to spark the Spurs over the Pistons.

Debray Rudolph also chipped in eight points for the Spurs.

Derrick Huguler led the Pistons with 12 points.

Midget Boys

James Herbert scored a game-high 23 points, including the Nuggets' final four points to seal the 33-30 victory over the Lakers on Jan. 27.

Daryl Starks led the Lakers with 13 points, while Darrius Watson had 11.

Wizzards 36, Bulls 21

The Wizzards jumped out to a 16-3 lead after the first half and cruised the rest of the way for an easy win over the Bulls.

Winston Peagler led the Wizzards with 12 points, while Shaquille Roberts had 10.

Laderius Howard paced the Bulls with 13 points, including 11 points in the second half.

Nuggets 41, Wizzards 31

James Herbert scored 18 of his game-high 25 points in the second half to lead the Nuggets past the Wizzards on Feb. 3.

DeMario Jones and Javaun Kent added seven points each.

Michael Watts led the Wizzards with 18 points.

Bulls 32, Lakers 29

Rashard Cannon scored all of his team-high 12 points in the fourth period to lead the Bulls over the Lakers.

Trevor Womack and Laderius Howard added eight points each.

Daryl Starks led the Lakers with 12 points, while Darrius Watson added 11.

Midget Girls

Jasmine Morris scored seven of her game-high nine points in the first half to lead the Mystics over the Sparks, 15-3, on Jan. 26.

Talesha McDonald added four for the Mystics, while Takila Walker was responsible for the Sparks' scoring.

Mystics 23, Tigers 1

The Mystics pitched a shutout in all but the second period to roll to an easy win.

Jasmine Morris led the Mystics with 14 points, while Talesha McDonald added nine.

Tanesha Crenshaw was responsible for the Tigers' scoring.

Mystics 12, Tigers 10

Jasmine Stewart scored her only basket of the afternoon, but she made it count big for the Mystics. Her basket in the fourth period turned out to be the game-winning shot to lead the Mystics over the Tigers on Feb. 2.

Jasmine Morris led the Mystics with seven points.

Jadia Howard led the Tigers with six points, while Tylesha Cook had four.

Sparks 15, Tigers 10

Keyundra Betton scored seven points to pace the Sparks over the Tigers.

Tylesha Cook led the Tigers with four points.

PeeWee Boys

Jiavonte Davison's bucket late in the fourth period was the game-winning basket to lead the Heat to a 28-26 victory over the Lakers on Jan. 26. Davison finished with 13 points for the Heat.

Draylen McGrew also had 13 for the Heat.

JaKeem Davison led the Lakers with a game-high 15 points.

Lakers 26, Heat 14

JaKeem Davison scored 11 of his team-high 17 points in the second half to lead the Lakers past the Heat on Feb. 2.

Draylen McGrew led the Heat with 10 points.

Men's League Tournament

Young Money 87,

Benefit Planners 54

DeMario Roper scored 16 of his team-high 22 points on Jan. 30 in the second half, including four 3-pointers to lead Young Money to the semifinals of the tournament.

LaDarrence Perdue added 20, Barry Owens 19 and Michael Ball had 10.

Jai Hill led Benefit Planners with 17 points, while Tommy Gilbert had 12.

Tyrone's Barber Shop 67,

Hwashin 50

Marcus Miles scored 12 of his game-high 23 points in the first half to lead Tyrone's Barber Shop to the semifinals of the men's tournament.

Roosevelt Moore added 17, while Kim McMeans added 10.
