n Relay for Life Kick-Off Meeting
Butler County ACS Relay For Life Kick-Off Meeting is slated for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Greenville Area YMCA. Any interested teams should have a team captain present at the meeting. Call 391-7691 for more information.
n Board of Education Meeting
The Butler County Board of Education will hold its scheduled meeting on at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 at McKenzie School located at 221 N. Garland Road in McKenzie. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
n DHR Meeting
The board of the Butler County Department of Human Resources will meet at 4 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Butler County DHR office. Child support will be discussed. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

n Stew Sale
The Georgiana Garden Club is sponsoring a Brunswick stew sale from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Georgiana Garden Club Cabin, which is located beside the First Methodist Church. n REMAC Meeting
The next quarterly meeting for REMAC is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 18 at the Ritz Theatre in downtown Greenville.
Several important items are on the agenda for this meeting including information about our new Pioneer Electric General Manager,
reports from REMAC’s Advisory Members to the Pioneer Board and election of officers.
All REMAC members as well as non-REMAC Pioneer Electric members are encouraged to be present for this important meeting.
n Power of Love Celebration
A Power of Love celebration will be held at the Friendship Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Feb. 18 in Georgiana. The celebration will be given by the WIA ministry.
n GA-ANA Theatre Concert

n Kindergarten Registration
W.O. Parmer Elementary School will have kindergarten registration from 8 a.m. until noon Feb. 22 for children with the last names beginning with A-M and Feb. 23 for children with the last names beginning with N-Z. Required documents include a certified birth certificate, blue immunization record, child's social security card and two proof's of residence. Child must be present to enroll at registration.
n Pastor's Anniversary
The House of Prayer Holiness Church will have an anniversary celebration for the church's pastor Cecilia Adams beginning at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22. The celebration will continue through Feb. 26. Special speakers will be Edler Flowers on Feb. 22, Apostle R.E. Stallworth on Feb. 23, Paston Kenneth Faison Feb. 24 and Bishop M. Linda Brown at Feb. 26. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
n R.L. Austin Preschool Clinic
All children entering kindergarten or first grade for the first time are encouraged to preregister for next school year at Robert L. Austin Elementary School beginning at 8 a.m. Feb. 22.
Registration will be held 8 a.m.-noon on Feb. 22, 3-6 p.m. Feb. 23 and 8 a.m.-noon on Feb. 24. To enroll a child in kindergarten or the first grade, he or she must be 5 or 6 years old on or before Sept. 2, 2006. Items needed for registration include a certified birth certificate, blue immunization record, child's social security card and proof of residency. If a child lives with a person other than a parent, this person will be required to fill out a form stating the reason the child is living with them.

n Early Church History
The Continuing Education Division of LBW Community College will offer a class on Biblical Feasts and Holidays beginning Feb. 23. Class will be taught on Thursday evenings, February 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.

n Mardis Gras Celebration
The Greenville-Butler County Public Library will celebrate Mardi Gras Saturday, Feb. 25.
Children ages 3 through 5-years-old kindergarten are invited to come at 9:30 a.m., and first, second and third graders are invited to come at 11 a.m.

n ASU Mardi Gras Scholarship Ball
The Lowndes County chapter of the Alabama State University Alumni Association will host a Mardi Gras Scholarship Ball starting at 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Hayneville Plaza Ballroom. The cost is $15 per person. Attire is formal to semi-formal. Call Alice Logan at 563-7423.

Pioneer Electric invites all of its members and the community to an open house and reception for new general manager, Steven A. Harmon beginning at 4 p.m. Feb. 27. The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor its annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Beeland Sports Complex beginning at 10 a.m. April 15. The hunts will be open for toddlers through 2-year-olds; preschoolers ages 3-5 years and first and second graders. A gold and silver prize will be given for each division. n City Track Meet
The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual city track meet beginning at 10 a.m. April 22 at the old Greenville High football practice field on School Highland Road. n Black History Exhibit
The Robinson's Activity Center will host its annual Black History exhibit now through March 31. The exhibit will be open weekdays 3-5 p.m. and weekends 1-4 p.m. The theme to the exhibit will be “Celebrating Community: A Tribute to Black Fraternal, Social and Civic Institutions.” The exhibit is open for mornings by appointment. n Kindergarten Registration
Mt. Moriah Baptist Church #2 Christian Academy is taking applications for 4-year-old children for our kindergarten program and school readiness program. Children's birthdates will have to be on or before Sept. 1. This is a free program. For more information, please call 563-7062.
n County Commission
The meeting time for the Butler County Commission's regularly scheduled second-Monday meetings has been changed from 10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Workshops for each regularly scheduled meeting will still be held on the prior Thursday at 6 p.m.
n Athletic Club Meeting
The public is invited to participate at scheduled Greenville High Athletic Club meetings at 6 p.m. every other Monday in the high school cafeteria. The public is encouraged to attend and share ideas toward building a championship-level athletic department.
n 21st Century Afterschool Program
The Butler County Board of Education will be offering a 21st Century Afterschool Program for K-8th grade students Monday-Friday until 5 p.m. at W.O. Parmer, Greenville Elementary, and at the Education and Community Center for Greenville Middle School students.
Certified teachers assist with homework and offer learning activities which are fun and educational. Tuition is $25 per month. Registration forms are available at each of the sites.
