n Butler County Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will have a blood drive at Fort Dale Academy 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. March 2. Donors will be given t-shirts, so please bring a photo ID when you donate.

n MHS Class of ‘61

McKenzie High School Class of

1961 will be having a get together at the Country Caf\u00E9 in McKenzie, on Saturday, March 4th at 6 p.m.

n Music Revue

The Stars Fell on Alabama music revue will be presented by the GA-ANA Theatre at 7 p.m. March 4. The concert will feature Ricky Fitzgerald, The Capitol Heights Hillbillies and Joe Kollar. Admission is $6 per person. Call 376-9019 or 382-7959 for more information.

n Yard Sale

The Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Greenville campus will hold a benefit yard sale starting at 6 a.m. March 4 at the Greenville campus. Proceeds will go to the Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Conference and the Butler County Relay for Life.

n Choral Evensong

The St. Thomas Episcopal Church inaugurates a new quarterly series of the ancient service of Choral Evensong.

The first of these will take place at 4 p.m. on March 5 at St. Thomas at 210 Church Street in Greenville. All are welcome to attend.

n Deacon Ordination

The Forest Home Baptist Church will ordain Danny Kelley as a deacon during a special service on Sunday, Mar. 5, 2006 at 5 p.m. Tommy Thompson will be installed as an active deacon. Friends, relatives and the public are invited.

n McKenzie Kindergarten Registration

McKenzie School will have kindergarten registration 8 a.m. until noon March 14 in the McKenzie auditorium for children who must be 5 years old before Sept. 1. Required documents include a certified birth certificate, blue immunization record, child's social security card and two proof's of residence. Child must be present to enroll at registration.

n Game and Tame Dinner

The Third Annual &#8220Game & Tame” wild game dinner sponsored by the Men's Ministry of First Baptist Church Greenville will be 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. March 11 at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

The featured speaker for this year's event will be Christian speaker and former University of Alabama Quarterback Jay Barker. The Praise Band from First Baptist Church, Wetumpka, and others will provide music.

There is no admission charge.

n Softball Meeting

The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department will hold an adult softball spring league organizational meeting at 6 p.m. March 16 at Dunbar Gym. The meeting is for men, women and church league teams. All teams interested in playing must attend. Call 382-3031 or 382-8708 for more information.

n Easter Egg Hunt

The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor its annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Beeland Sports Complex beginning at 10 a.m. April 15. The hunts will be open for toddlers through 2-year-olds; preschoolers ages 3-5 years and first and second graders. A gold and silver prize will be given for each division. n City Track Meet

The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual city track meet beginning at 10 a.m. April 22 at the old Greenville High football practice field on School Highland Road. The Greenville High School Class of 1956 is planning a 50-year reunion to be held May 5-6. n Black History Exhibit

The Robinson's Activity Center will host its annual Black History exhibit now through March 31. The exhibit will be open weekdays 3-5 p.m. and weekends 1-4 p.m. The theme to the exhibit will be &#8220Celebrating Community: A Tribute to Black Fraternal, Social and Civic Institutions.” The exhibit is open for mornings by appointment. n Kindergarten Registration

Mt. Moriah Baptist Church #2 Christian Academy is taking applications for 4-year-old children for our kindergarten program and school readiness program. Children's birthdates will have to be on or before Sept. 1. This is a free program. For more information, please call 563-7062.

n County Commission

The meeting time for the Butler County Commission's regularly scheduled second-Monday meetings has been changed from 10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Workshops for each regularly scheduled meeting will still be held on the prior Thursday at 6 p.m.

n Athletic Club Meeting

The public is invited to participate at scheduled Greenville High Athletic Club meetings at 6 p.m. every other Monday in the high school cafeteria. The public is encouraged to attend and share ideas toward building a championship-level athletic department.

n 21st Century Afterschool Program

The Butler County Board of Education will be offering a 21st Century Afterschool Program for K-8th grade students Monday-Friday until 5 p.m. at W.O. Parmer, Greenville Elementary, and at the Education and Community Center for Greenville Middle School students.

Certified teachers assist with homework and offer learning activities which are fun and educational. Tuition is $25 per month. Registration forms are available at each of the sites.

n School Readiness
