Gamble honored with gala

Although she was, in her words, initially “quite put out” over missing her monthly movie excursion to Montgomery, Roberta Gamble was pleasantly surprised when she entered the Ritz Theatre on Saturday afternoon to find a host of well-wishers and former students inside ready to put on a show in her honor.
Gamble, known as “Miss Bobbie” by her Old Gym Players, was treated to a number of tunes from the Broadway musicals she'd directed at Greenville High School in the 70s and 80s.
