Hale, Kendrick unite in marriage

Tyula Ursula Hale and Coy Kendrick Jr. were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 on the enclosed 3,000-square-foot Fairyland Terrace at the Mansion on the 80.

The couple exchanged vows under the terrace arbor surrounded by the mansion’s white wisteria trees gleaming with over 10,000 twinkling while lights. Rev. Erick E. Scott officiated the ceremony.

The bride was escorted by her mother, Faye Hale Chambers, who also gave the bride in marriage. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses accented in blue and wore a white beaded halter dress with an angel-length veil from David’s Bridal.

Vansuan Scott, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor and Aubry Carpenter, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Bernadette Simmons, Chasnaey Hayes, Charlena Roper, Kiana Scott, and Sheneekia Hales; Derellnisha McNear and Erica Hale, cousins of the bride, were flower girls.

Justin Walker served as best man. Groomsmen included Cecil Chambers, Detric Smith, Mickey Hale, Cardrell Kendrick and Isaiah Scott as the ringbearer. Vocalists were Stephanie Jefferson and David Hale. Sharon Barnes presented the prayer for the bride and groom.

Following the ceremony, the guests adjourned to the mansion’s pink marble ballroom for the reception.

The bride’s four-tiered cake was provided by Nettie McCord, and the groom’s cake, by Faye Hale Chambers. Robert Peterson provided music for dancing.

The bride is a nursing student at AUM and the groom is employed by Hyundai.

The couple is enjoying a new home and will reside in Montgomery.
