Police seized over $800 worth of narcotics and illicit drugs at a Greenville apartment during an afternoon raid last Thursday.

Police arrested one man, Robert D. Seawright, 19, at Bent Creek Apartments and charged him with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also recovered was $418 in assorted U.S. currency.

Seawright is currently being held in the Butler County Jail on a $16,000 bond. This is Seawright's first arrest, according to Lt. Kenneth Parker.

Parker said the Greenville Special Response Team executed the warrant at approximately 3 p.m., entering Seawright's apartment where they discovered a bag of cocaine and marijuana, each, on an end table in the living area. Officers also found a smaller bag of cocaine in the bathroom, as well as an electronic scale commonly used to weigh illegal drugs.

Greenville police also detained two other individuals while inside the residence, but no other arrests were made.

Parker said the investigation that led to the arrest of Seawright had been ongoing.

On Friday, police received a tip that a package would be dropped off in a nearby Greenville neighborhood. Upon investigation, police were able to recover six-and-a-half grams of cocaine worth approximately $600, according to Parker.

Parker said recovery of the drugs could lead to future arrests.

&#8220Thanks to a helpful tip from a concerned citizen we were able to get these drugs before they hit the street,” said Parker.
