It is very important for the citizens of Crenshaw County to support the activities that take place around the county. It doesn't matter if it is a big event or a small event. The people are what really matter. It is showing unity by reaching out a hand to a fellow neighbor. These community events help to bring people closer together, and it helps to bring smaller communities closer together.

The town of Glenwood is hosting its 13th annual Festival at the Well this Saturday, May 20, and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

The historic flowing well in the center of this community is the site of the day's events. Everything begins at 9 a.m. with a parade through the center of the town. Plus, there will be a community street dance beginning at 8 p.m.

There will be live stage entertainment throughout the day. Some of the day's festivities will include a children's beauty pageant, plus country, Gospel, bluegrass and dance entertainment will perform from the surrounding counties.

The Flowing Well grounds will be filled with arts and crafts booths, food booths and games for the children.

The Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department will cater smoked barbecue, and many valuable door prizes will be awarded to those who are present.

Tables are available at the street dance, and limited booth space is also still available. For more information, please call 335-3426.

The Glenwood Festival at the Well is an annual event of Downtown Glenwood and is held on the third Saturday in May.

Make plans to attend the day's festivities and bring the whole family.
