Tillery strikes out 16 for O#039;s to get shutout over Twins

Cade Tillery posted 16 strikeouts to lead the Orioles to a 7-0 shutout over the Twins last week in Dixie Minors play. Tillery was shaky at the beginning of the game allowing a lead off single to Harper Vinson, but struck out the next two batters before giving up another single to Brady Edge, but got a strikeout ending the threat. Tillery's teammates fared better in the first scoring two runs off a hits by Colby Booker King.

Mike Smith tripled for the Twins with one out in the fourth inning, but Tillery struck out the next two batters to leave Smith stranded at third and preserve the shutout.

Astros 4, Yankees 2

The Astros got two runs in the top of the sixth inning to break open a tie game and take a 4-2 win over the Yankees. The Yankees challenged in the bottom half of the frame with singles by Kyle Beasley and Jack Bates, but Astros pitching got a ground ball to end the game.

Gavin McKenzie tripled and scored for the Astros while Donte Lee went 2-for-3 with a single and a double.

Jeffery Fuller led the Yankees with single and a double and Jeffery Register singled and scored a run.

Red Sox 10, Braves 1

Reginald Bennett homered in the fifth to cap a four-run inning as the Red Sox sent the Braves packing, 10-1. Bennett also singled and scored a run in the fourth inning after coming in as a substitute in that inning.

The Braves got hits by J.T. Thomas, Clem Cole, Adam Brown, and Cole Davis, but none were able to score after reaching the base pads.
