Christ leads Slammers over #8216;Beans

Lauren Christ was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a double May 18 to lead the Slammers over the Butterbeans, 9-8, in Dixie Jr./Sr. action.
Nicole Stinson, Courtnee Meyers and Brandie Tetter each had singles for the Slammers with Kala Johnson adding a double in the second inning.
Casey Hicks was the leading hitter for the Butterbeans, going 2-for-2 with a triple and two runs scored. Tara Gibson also had two hits for the Butterbeans.
Kathryn Sanford earned the win for the Slammers, while also striking out five batters.
Wildcats 5, Get-R-Done 3
Tamara Truitt's second-inning, two-run home run blast proved to be the difference in the game May 18 as the Wildcats slipped past the Get-R-Done, 5-3.
Julie Scott, Shantzel Peagler and Katie Wilson each had singles for the winning team.
Even though the Get-R-Done girls scored three runs, Wildcats' pitcher Nicole Norton threw a complete game no-hitter.
Butterbeans 9, Get-R-Done 6
Tara Gibson could not go wrong May 19 on the mound or at the plate as the Butterbeans downed the Get-R-Done, 9-6.
Gibson was perfect at the plate, hitting 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, while also striking out 10 batters en route to the Butterbeans victory. Teammate Casey Hicks also had a big night at the plate, hitting 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
For the Get-R-Done, Lori Fails was 2-for-3, while teammates Anna Nelson, Shawnee Morrison, Amber McKenzie and Susan Nimmer each had a hit apiece.
Wildcats 13, Slammers 2
Nicole Norton and Murphy Middleton each had two hits apiece May 19 to lead the Wildcats past the Slammers due to the mercy rule, 13-2.
Norton and Middle each scored two runs, as did teammates Shantzel Peagler, Tamara Truitt, Julie Scott and Iesha McCall.
Courtnee Meyers and Emily Norris each had doubles for the Slammers.
Erin Taylor earned the win and struck out 11.
Get-R-Done 12, Slammers 2
Shawnee Morrison, Cory Rice, Amber McKenzie and Anna Nelson each scored two runs May 22 as the Get-R-Done downed the Slammers via the mercy rule, 12-2.
Morrison finished the night 2-for-3 with teammate Kristen Edwards earning the win with six strikeouts. Lauren Christ and Kathryn Sanford led the Slammers, each hitting a double, while Abbey Mullins and Courtnee Meyers each had a single.
Butterbeans 7, Wildcats 4
Michelle Hulick was 2-for-2 May 22 as the Butterbeans slipped by the Wildcats, 7-4.
Hulick was perfect at the plate, recording two doubles, while teammates Tara Gibson and Casey Hicks also each had an extra base hit.
For the Wildcats, Erin Taylor and Murphy Middleton each had singles, while Julie Scott added a three-run homerun in the fourth inning.
