An appreciation/benefit program for Evangelist Kitty Merrills will be held at The House of Prayer Holiness Church on Friday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 4 at 2:30 p.m. Bishop M. Linday Brown will be preaching. Everyone is invited.

n Antique Tractor Parade

Come to downtown Greenville on Saturday, June 3 and enjoy the sight of vintage tractors rolling down the street. The antique tractor parade, courtesy of Old Time Farm Days, kicks off at 10:30 a.m. from the courthouse to Oliver Street.

n Georgiana HS Reunion

The annual Georgiana High School Reunion-classes 1960-1969 will be held at the Georgiana Community House on June 3, from 1:30p.m. – 3:30p.m.

Light refreshments will be provided at no charge, however, donations will be accepted.

Class pictures will be taken at 2:30 p.m.

There will be no formal program, just &#8220come and go” and visit with old friends.

Southside Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School starting on June 5 through June 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme this year is FIESTA: Where Kids are Fired Up about Jesus. n Spring Revival

First Baptist Church - Georgiana will host &#8220Four Marvelous Mondays” starting on June 5. Randy Harvill will be guest speaker on June 5 and special music will be provided by The Jubilee Trio; June 12, speaker will be Michael King and special music will be provided by Roy Freeman; June 19, speaker will be Greg Aman and special music will be provided by Bill and Laurie Sky; June 26, speaker will be Michael Green and special music will be provided by Sabrina Reynolds. Services start at 7 p.m. each evening.

n Moore Academy Reunion

Moore Academy Alumni, former teachers, students and friends, will hold its annual reunion on Saturday, May 10 at the Moore Academy School in Pine Apple. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the historical main building where refreshments will be served. You are invited to visit the memorabilia room, as well as the veteran's collection room. The program will start at 11 a.m. in the gym, followed by a catered lunch. Lunch plates will be $10, no refunds. n Cemetery Association Meeting

A meeting of the Concord Cemetery Memorial Association is set for Saturday, August 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Tabernacle Church. All interested persons are cordially invited to attend and bring a picnic lunch.

After lunch, everyone is invited to tour the cemetery and help in clean-up work. Wear suitable clothing and walking shoes.

Tabernacle Church is located on the Old Federal Road and can be reached from Interstate 65 via the Tyson Exit (drive over the freeway and head East if coming southbound), go down Cloverfield Road (SH 24), turn right on the Old Federal Road and in about two miles, you’ll see Tabernacle Church on the right.

n Butler County Chess Club

The Greenville Chess Club meets on Monday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Butler Baptist Associational Office, 309 South Pine Street.

Local chess players or those who would like to learn how to play are welcome.

n County Commission

The meeting time for the Butler County Commission's regularly scheduled second-Monday meetings has been changed from 10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Workshops for each regularly scheduled meeting will still be held on the prior Thursday at 6 p.m.

n Athletic Club Meeting

The public is invited to participate at scheduled Greenville High Athletic Club meetings at 6 p.m. every other Monday in the high school cafeteria. The public is encouraged to attend and share ideas toward building a championship-level athletic department.

n 21st Century Afterschool Program

The Butler County Board of Education will be offering a 21st Century Afterschool Program for K-8th grade students Monday-Friday until 5 p.m. at W.O. Parmer, Greenville Elementary, and at the Education and Community Center for Greenville Middle School students.

Certified teachers assist with homework and offer learning activities which are fun and educational. Tuition is $25 per month. Registration forms are available at each of the sites.

n School Readiness
