Mrs. Eugene B. Smith Jr. of Greenville announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Laura Anne, to Kenneth Platt Solomons IV, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Platt Solomons III of Greenville.

The bride-elect, the daughter of the late E.B. Smith Jr. of Greenville is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Smith Sr. of Greenville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gay Lowe of Greenville.

A graduate of Greenville Academy, she attended Auburn University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science Education.

Miss Smith is a teacher at Columbus High School Liberal Arts Magnet in Columbus, Ga.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Platt Solomons Jr., step-grandmother Ada Claire Solomons, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim McBride, all of Greenville.

He graduated from Fort Dale Academy and attended Auburn University Montgomery and Troy University.

Mr. Solomons is currently employed with ESPN in Orlando as an associate manager in communications.

The wedding is scheduled for 3 p.m. on June 24, 2006 at Southside Baptist Church in Greenville.
