Top 10 rematch opens 2006 season

This Friday night, the ninth-ranked Fort Dale Eagles will get the season rolling as they travel to take on the seventh-ranked Edgewood Wildcats in a rematch of last season's first-round playoff game.

Over the course of the next few months, I will break down the week's upcoming games and make my predictions on the outcomes. This week:

No. 9 Fort Dale @ No. 7 Edgewood

The Eagles prevailed over the Wildcats in last season's first-round playoff game, 22-17, and Edgewood is seeking revenge.

The Wildcats are coming off a 9-2 season last year while the Eagles are hungry after dropping four of the last six games to end the 2005 season.

While both teams made the playoffs last season, both teams are also looking to replace several key players.

If the Eagles are able to spread the ball and establish the run, this Top 10 matchup could be the good foot the Eagles want to start off on… Fort Dale 20, Edgewood 13.
