An old country store (above) is about to become a &#8220star.” The former Phelps Grocery building in the Midway Community east of Greenville is being transformed into the &#8220Honeydripper Lounge,” a ‘50s-era blues club, for the John Sayles film, &#8220Honeydripper.”

Actor Danny Glover's character will be the owner of the club.

Crews have been working hard the past week to clean out the building, which dates back to the 1930s.

Small gems have been unearthed in the process of preparing the building for its transformation, including this illustration (left) from a mid-20th century ladies' pattern book found on the back steps of the old store.
