The Cougars of CCA traveled into the state of Florida last Friday night and quickly returned to Alabama after getting skunked by Arnold 21-0.

Crenshaw Christian Academy was outmanned as the Arnold High School defense totally shut down the Cougar attack, limiting them to 157 yards passing and only 16 yards on the ground.

&uot;Turnovers killed us,&uot; said Coach Roland Jones. &uot;I think we lost a fumble and had three passes intercepted, and also we just couldn’t get our offense going.&uot;

Arnold scored one touchdown in each of the first, third and fourth quarters while holding CCA scoreless.

Heading up the Cougar passing game was Bryan Brasington who completed 15 for 157 yards and one interception. Chafin Johnson snagged 8 of the 15 for 84 yards, while Allen Sasser caught 3 and Jared Hughes 2.

The only thing that held the score as close as it was, was the defense. They were led by Matthew Walden with 11 tackles, Jake Page with 9, Derek Manning with 7 and Charlie Mack with 6. Paul McIlwain and Chafin Johnson each contributed 5 stops to the effort.

CCA is on the road once again this week, traveling to Prattville to take on Prattville Christian Academy on Friday night. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
