Dennis Palmer, president and publisher of Greenville Newspapers, LLC, publisher of The Greenville Advocate and affiliated publications in Georgiana, Luverne and Fort Deposit, since 2002 and vice president and group manager for Boone Newspapers, Inc. has been named publisher of The Selma Times-Journal, selmatimesjournal.com and The Dollar Saver and president of Selma Newspapers, Inc.
Greenville Newspapers, LLC and Selma Newspapers Inc., are all part of the Boone Newspapers, Inc. organization of Tuscaloosa. Palmer's successor in Greenville will be named at a later date. Palmer will continue to have ties to Greenville, working with the new publisher as group manager.
“The decision to accept the opportunity in Selma was a difficult one,” Palmer said. “Greenville is a wonderful place in which to live and raise a family, and my wife and I appreciate and value the many friendships we've made here the last four years.”
During Palmer's tenure Greenville Newspapers was honored with more than 30 awards for writing, photography and design by the Alabama Press Association.
“The staff of Greenville Newspapers is top notch,” Palmer said. “They are a dedicated group of professionals who strive to achieve excellence in their service to our readers and advertisers and I'm proud to have worked alongside them.”
Palmer begins work in Selma Wednesday.
