The United Fund of Butler County needs your help.
The non-profit volunteer agency is once again seeking pledges and donations from businesses, industries and individuals throughout the county as it reaches for its goal of $55,000.
The organization helps fund more than 30 agencies in Butler County, among them McKenzie Youth Activities,
South Butler Rescue Squad, the Greenville YMCA, Butler Activity and Training Center, Joseph Ministries and Safe Harbor, to name a few.
“The great thing about the United Fund is the fact it is the local community helping others in the community. All funds raised stay right here in Butler County,” Susan Murphy of the UFBC said.
Pledge cards have gone out to businesses that have previously supported the cause, and anyone who wants to get involved in this charitable effort is urged to get on board soon.
&uot;We encourage those who have the option of payroll deduction to donate a monthly sum that will be automatically taken out of their checks. You do not miss it and that money is going to help people in your schools and communities,&uot; Murphy said.
Tax-deductible lump sum donations may also be made to the United Fund. &uot;Whatever you give, whether it is $1 or $100, it will be put to good use,&uot; Murphy said.
