Did she or didn't she? Chelsey Joann Vann, a freshman at Lurleen B. Wallace's Greenville campus, was presented the second runner-up trophy at Thursday night's Ms. LBWCC Greenville program at the Ritz Theatre downtown.

Then they took the trophy back.

&#8220Sorry, Chelsey, something was written down wrong,” Mollie Smith, co-emcee with Jeddo Bell, explained.

Vann, a Greenville High School graduate, had a happy ending after all.

The pharmacy major and winner of the Interview Award, mingling tears with smiles of joy, was ultimately crowned Ms. LBWCC Greenville.

First runner-up was Brittany Shae Roper, an LBWCC freshman and nursing major. The Highland Home graduate also placed in the Talent Top Three with her skillful twirling routine.

Savannah Raquel Myrick was chosen second runner-up and winner of the Talent Award for her amusing monologue &#8220Herbert the Worm.”

Other contestants chosen for the Top Six were Laken Nicole Bees, Emily Pitts and Heather Michelle Pruitt.

LBWCC freshman Marquita Lymon,

selected Miss Congeniality, is a nursing major who graduated from Greenville High School.

Kasha Yetevia Thompson, Candice Shanice Dean, Amber Victoria Wilson, Top Three talent winner Marvetta Banks and Kanitra Lewis rounded out the program contestants.

The contestants were judged on talent and interview during the day, with evening gown presentations made that evening.

Plenty of entertainment was provided over the course of the evening, courtesy of the Greenville High Choral Group, Sonya's Dance and Fitness Team, and vocalists Cade Tillery, Brittany Byrd, Brittany Singleton and Sabrina Reynolds.

LBWCC President Ed Meadows, noting the large turnout at the event, said the Greenville campus had &#8220truly arrived.”

&#8220Our technology center is under construction and the beginnings of our conference center, a joint project with the City of Greenville, will soon be underway. Great and wonderful things are happening for our college in Greenville.”
