You chat online, shop online, and perhaps you even pay bills online. Now you can add Relay For Life to the list of activities you can participate in on the World Wide Web.

The Relay For Life of Crenshaw County is currently registering teams and accepting donations at www.acsevents.org/relay/al/crenshaw. The website also provides details about this year's Relay,

which will take place April 27, 2007, at E.L. Turner Park. This year's theme is &#8220Rockin' & Rollin' for a Cure.” The 2007 Relay For Life goal is $80,000.

&#8220We're excited about bringing the power of the Internet to our Relay For Life event,” said Jeff Adams, online chair for the event.

&#8220This Web site will make it easier for teams to participate, raise funds and stay connected with our event.

All teams and team members will need to register online to receive t-shirts.

This is a great fundraising tool and we are excited about the opportunity it will bring to our Relay, as it will allow us to expand our fundraising to include our friends and family outside our area by utilizing the online tools. ”

Teams who utilize the site can develop their own personal Relay page and can send e-mails to friends and family members inviting them to support the fight against cancer.

Relay For Life is the largest cancer fundraiser in the nation. Held in more than 4,300 communities nationwide last year, the event brings participants together to raise money for cancer research, education, advocacy and patient support programs.
