The Alabama Heritage cooking contest, sponsored by the Alabama Farmers Federation Women's Committee, will be on Thursday, March 8, 2007.

The category is &#8220Salad” and the contest will be held at the ALFA building, 357 South Forest Ave., Luverne,

Ala.

The prepared dish should be there no later than 5:45 p.m. with judging beginning at 6 p.m.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older and a member of ALFA.

Participants are invited to stay for a meal prepared by the Women's Committee, and an opportunity to taste the dishes submitted for judging.

There will be a first, second and third place selected.

The first place winner will be eligible to participate in state competition in Montgomery on September 6, 2007.

Professional caterers and/or those persons who cook for others and receive a monetary compensation for their services are not eligible.
