Crenshaw County man indicted for rape of Greenville woman

The Butler County Grand Jury has indicted Leroy David Scarver, 32, on suspicions he raped a 20-year-old female last year in her home in Greenville.

Scarver is charged with rape, 1st degree.

Butler County Sheriff deputies arrested Scarver on March 12, 2006, ending a five-month search by the Greenville Police Department for man fitting Scarver's description. In a written statement, the victim alleges Scarver was staying in her home in the night of the attack, according to police reports.

n David Gerry Kendrick, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault, 2nd degree.

n Richard Devin Fulton, theft of property, 1st degree.

n Judy K. Henderson, unlawful distribution.

n Derrick Deon Loveless, robbery, 1st degree.

n Deangelo O'Neal Crenshaw, fraudulent use of a credit/debit card.

n David Warren Reynolds, possession of a controlled substance.

n Kendrick Keith Robinson, possession of marijuana, 1st degree.

n Laconnie Smith, domestic violence.

n Jamario Cortez Bedgood, possession of a controlled substance.

n Reginald O'Neal Palmer, possession of marijuana, 1st degree.

n Delrone Shantel Boggan, assault, 1st degree.

n Keldrian Alexander Pate, possession of marijuana, 1st degree.

n Derrick Lamont Smith, seven counts of possession of a forged instrument.

An indictment means the grand jury has concluded there is enough evidence to formally charge someone with a crime. Persons indicted are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
