You know spring has truly arrived when the Easter Bunny makes his appearance. This year the cotton-tailed one showed up early in the Camellia City to share some Easter eggs and friendly hugs with local children of all ages.

Peter Cottontail made his early appearance last Saturday, visiting businesses both downtown and on the by-pass, along with area nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The bunny passed out colorful plastic eggs featuring inspirational Bible verses tucked inside to the youngsters he met along the way.

Mr. Cottontail and his friends from Call to Life Worship Center want to remind everyone a big event is coming to Confederate Park this Saturday, March 31.

&#8220We have a really fun event planned for the children that day,” Peter said.

The &#8220He Lives Easter Egg-stravaganza” is slated for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Confederate Park downtown.

Along with an Easter egg hunt, featuring cash prizes for those who find the gold and silver eggs, and the opportunity to have a photo taken with Mr. Cottontail himself, many other activities have been planned for youngsters ages 10 and under during the event.

&#8220The folks at Call to Life will also offer face painting, sack races, balloons and hands-on creative craft activities for the children. They will have lots of fun and learn what Easter is really all about, too,” Peter said.

&#8220So come out and enjoy a wonderful day in the park with us on Saturday.”
